The Reserves have been drawn against Westbourne in the Quarter Final of the League Junior Cup.
They beat Kesgrave Kestrels on penalties following a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes. John Waller scored a free-kick and George Godbold added the second giving them a 2-0 half time lead. Kesgrave were able to level the match during the second half to send the game to penalties. Ryan Broadhurst, John Waller and Byron Stretton scored their penalties and hero of the day Sam Reach saved all three of Kestrelís spot kicks to win the game 3-0.
Playford have never beaten Westbourne, the Reserves most recently, losing in 2017. Eight Westbourne players played in their cup win over Elmsett United that beat Playford 5-3 two years ago. Whereas only four Reserve Team players that won yesterday played in the same defeat, showing how far the Reserves have progressed in the same period.
